Nicholas Banovetz is a past member of the 50CAN team.

Like the 800,000-plus kids in public schools across Minnesota, Daniel Sellers and I are headed back to school—big yellow bus and all.

Tomorrow we’ll embark on our first statewide listening tour, “Road to Success.” Along the way, your education advocacy nonprofit will visit 12 communities to connect with Minnesotans, see great teachers and principals at work in some of our most successful schools, and learn from people like you what needs to change at the capitol if we’re serious about improving public education for every child.

Here at MinnCAN, we know the best advocates are those who approach their work as students themselves, eager to learn and grow every day. That’s why Daniel and I hope to gain a solid education during our fall listening tour about what matters to people throughout the North Star State. We’ll turn the lessons we learn into action at the capitol when the 2014 legislation session rolls around.

First up: Cloquet on September 17. We'll announce each stop as the tour progresses, so make sure to follow us on Twitter and on our tour page: www.minncan.org/road-success-2013

Thanks for all that you do—and maybe we’ll see you out there!
