Calling all education innovators! The Charter School Partnership (CPS) just announced a new two-year fellowship for individuals to open a new, high-performing charter school.

Here’s a description of the fellowship:

The CSP Fellowship is designed to create a critical mass of excellent charter schools in the urban core of the Twin Cities to put the charter school movement and public education in the state on a new path toward excellence for all students. It is a selective, two-year program designed to prepare talented and passionate individuals to open a new high-performing, achievement-gap closing urban charter schools. Fellows will receive national caliber education and training from Charter School Partners, community partners, and school leader mentors from some of Minnesota's most effective charter schools.

The CSP Fellowship is experiential and designed to prepare excellent school leaders while improving the performance of our existing MN charter schools. While planning and implementing their charter schools, Fellows will assume leadership roles in local charter schools with the charge to improve their students’ academic achievement; additionally, Fellows will also travel to best-practice charters across the country throughout their two years in the Fellowship.

We believe that a multi-faceted approach to charter school leader training that incorporates academic coursework, programmatic support, and experiential learning in authentic school environments will help us prepare the next generation of charter school leaders, the ones who will deliver the high-quality educations every child deserves, no matter their race or zip code.
