We're absolutely thrilled to share that…
Lee-Ann Stephens, of St. Louis Park Public Schools and 2006 Minnesota Teacher of the Year, has joined our board.
Lee-Ann does exemplary work to bring best-in-class instruction to the kids who need it most. We’re eager for her classroom experiences to help inform our policy and advocacy efforts.
Lee-Ann currently works as the High Achievement Program advocate in St. Louis Park schools and previously served as an adjunct professor at Metro State University. She served on Minnesota's Board of Teaching from 2010-2011 and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a master's in education–curriculum and instruction.

Also, Sandra Vargas, president and CEO of The Minneapolis Foundation, is transitioning from our board to join our national affiliate 50CAN: The Fifty State Campaign for Achievement Now. Thanks, Sandy, for your service, and we wish you well!
In addition to a growing board, we’ve hired three new employees–bringing our team to a total of five. Please help me welcome our new team members:

- Ariana Kiener, Communications Associate — Most recently, Ariana worked at Jewish Community Action and several political campaigns in Minnesota’s second congressional district.
- Reggie Evans, Office Associate — comes from the city of Saint Paul’s Human Rights Office and the YMCA of Minneapolis.
Get to know our team and stay tuned for more updates, including our 2014 policy goals.
