This year Minnesota received a waiver from the No Child Left Behind requirements.

Team MinnCAN invite you to join us, The Education Trust and Minnesota education officials on November 28 to learn more about the waiver and what it means for Minnesota public schools:

Diving into Minnesota’s approved NCLB waiver

WHAT: Please join MinnCAN and The Education Trust for a substantive presentation on Minnesota’s approved waiver from NCLB. Minnesota’s waiver details hefty benchmarks for increasing student achievement, as well as big changes in the way we measure school performance, increase educator effectiveness and accountability, and address persistently low-performing schools. On-the-ground advocates and key stakeholders like you may be wondering what these changes mean for Minnesota students.

The event will feature an Ed Trust presentation on our waiver, remarks from the Minnesota Department of Education and MinnCAN, and an audience Q&A.

WHEN: Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 – 8:30-10 a.m.

WHERE: The Pohlad Theater at Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall

RSVP: We welcome you to learn more and join the discussion. Please confirm your attendance here.

We look forward to seeing you on November 28!
