For years, research has told us that quality, aligned early learning opportunities can set kids up for long-term success. Now, Minnesota educators are telling us, too.

In our new ‘Starting Strong’ report, we highlight teachers and school leaders in Deer River, Winona, St. Paul, Brooklyn Center, Proctor and Pelican Rapids who are aligning PreK-3rd grade efforts to boost student achievement, foster teacher collaboration and increase parent engagement. In this report, we share these communities’ stories and successes, and offer ideas—for practitioners and policymakers—to replicate their tremendous work.

We hope this report sparks conversations—and we want you to join in:

  • TODAY: Read the report and share it far and wide, in your school and community.
  • NOVEMBER 5, 4-5 PM: Join us for a Twitter Town Hall on the #StartingStrongMN report!
  • NEXT YEAR: Join us at the Capitol to advocate for policies to expand and align early learning.

We thank the Minnesota educators leading PreK-3rd grade alignment efforts and proving that all kids can succeed. We also thank The McKnight Foundation for commissioning this report, and you—our supporters—for being champions of quality early learning for all kids.
