Today, team MinnCAN is excited to announce a new scrimmage to gear up for the third play in The Playbook for Education in Minnesota: our pilot School & District Report Cards.

Our third campaign goal, “Launch the achievement power play,” aims to expand schools that are working, close those that aren’t and improve those in between. But before we can do that we need to figure out which schools are which.
We’re designing our school report cards to do just that: showcase our best schools and identify the ones that need to improve. But first, since this is our first time releasing school report cards, we’re treating this as a pilot run. This fall we will release new versions of our school report cards that assign grades to every public school and district in the state.
In the meantime, we want to hear from you about how well you think our report cards capture what’s happening in our public schools. We’re using this pilot version of our report cards to test and refine our methodology, and your feedback will be critical.
We need to make sure all our schools bring their “A game.” That starts with spotlighting the ones that are outpacing other schools in student achievement and making transparent the best practices they use to achieve those outstanding results.
